Chick challenges 19, and Christmas in February for OWH

Hey peeps! It's snowing HARD outside, and I thought I'd get started on some of my winter cards for OWH (see challenge to the right - well, this is *my own* challenge to myself. LOL). :)

The Tuesday tutorial today at the Stars & Stamps blog was to heat emboss something. i really, really don't like heat embossing. Too messy for me. Did I mention I really don't like heat embossing? Anyhow, I got this Unity Christmas bough stamp just before Christmas but it never got to see ink until now. I think it makes a lovely CAS card:

And then I wanted to make a card for the new Ippity Chicks sketch, because I really like the sketch! Normally I'd use some DSP for the three panels, but I thought of using the flower stamp from Thanks for all things and decided to pair it with some MME Stella and Rose dp instead, and I really like how pretty and springy this card became:

I used just part of the sentiment from All things are Possible - I've had that little die cut hanging around for months, and it has a home! Yay! :)

Thanks for visiting me today - I so appreciate your comments! :)

  1. Jen, I also have a love/hate relationship with heat embossing. When it works out, it's wonderful and when it doesn't, it is the target of my screams and into the garbage it goes. LOL! This Christmas bough card is just delightful! Very festive and bright. A perfect Christmas card! :)

  2. Love the soft colors on the Sketch card, great job..

Embossing is my enemy.. How do people get it to look so perfect?

  3. I'm slowly learning to love heat embossing - well, I love the look but could do without the process! I am an expert at spilling those annoying little pots...
Anyway I like this brach embossed - gives it a lot more interest. I've had this stamp sitting around for ages being ignored but I think I may try the embossing...
Totally sweet and springy card. And don't you love it when scraps find a home? :)
