Today's challenge over at the Stars & Stamps blog is to make a card using punches and/or dies. The first card was too easy, so I made another, but I"m not entirely thrilled with it. I figure I need to sleep on it, so I'm going to post it anyway and you can tell me if it's salvageable or not!
First up, Big bird:
And then, this:
I sued my fringe flower die from Lil' Inkers, and I LOVE that thing but these flowers are pretty bulky even when mashed down a lot. It may have to be an anyhero card. :/ I don't know. I think I need to rework it.
Thanks for stopping in - I'm sending a box of cards to Kris tomorrow! Won't you send one, too? :)
Jen
Jen, I think you have some really cute ideas here. I have been told that when doing eyes, the eyes come to life when you add the little white reflection of light to each pupil. I don't know if I am making sense here-let me know if I have confused you and I will try to rephrase-
ReplyDeleteSuper cute! Oh I definitely think Lee Ann is right about the eyes! And the house is cute--but you're right...maybe too much bulk--but really, really, really, cute! I will be sending a box on Saturday! whooot!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite has to be Big Bird. So colorful and lively, who can resist a big, yellow, fuzzy bird? And so creative :)
ReplyDeleteCute and adorable, love both cards, nicely done
ReplyDeleteTooooo cute.
ReplyDeleteHey, Jen --- I sent you a PM on the Cricut MB. :-)
Jen, I think both cards are adorable. I agree with the orders about Big Bird's eyes. I adore you second card, but I think I would use it as an Any Hero card as that beautiful sentiment you picked for that card will remind any hero what he or she is fighting for. Great job on both.
ReplyDeleteWhat fun and cute cards! Love how cheerful they are!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely LOVE your first card...it's as cute as can be!! :) Thanks for sharing!!
ReplyDeleteLove, love your cards! Big Bird is so stinkin' cute! I think the house card would make a wonderful Any Hero card. What could be better than some thanks and appreciation from home! Thanks for playing our Midweek Throwdown Challenge at Operation Write Home Stars & Stamps!

Cute big bird card! :)
ReplyDeleteTwo great cards! I agree about adding white to the black to make the eyes more alive. Try it out on some other black circles first so you don't ruin this card. (Even hubby sitting next to me said, "I like it.")
ReplyDeletelike your big bird card - it will make a child smile to get that from a loved one.
ReplyDeletethanks for supporting OWH

Your card definatley fits the theme. It is so cute. I just may need to borrow that idea.
ReplyDeleteGreat cards Jen, I love the way you've used your dies and punches! Thanks for playing in our challenge at Operation Write Home!
