Lawn Fawn Let it Snow stamp set BG Jovial papers brown marker for stitching; pearl gem Tim holtz inks: antique linen, walnut stain |
This was the second card I made - like it even better! LOL :) |
I turned the sketch on it's side and used a small ribbon scrap for the trunk, and a pearl gem for the tree topper. I didn't have a gold or silver pen so I just used a dark brown marker to make some dashed lines; with the paper I think it works well rather than something flashy. I also don't have any fancy scissors, so I just cut a circle.
Lest you think I followed any of the instructions, I also made a smaller tree than the tutorial suggested. My largest die cut was just under 4", so I used that. I actually like it quite well, though I love the way the larger tree filled the tutorial card. I may have to dig for a protractor!
It's hard to see, but I used the small snowflakes from the Lawn Fawn Let it Snow set to stamp on the off white BG paper. I used antique linen ink; they are faint but just add a little extra.
Thanks for looking!
Jen
Love the rusticness of the look. I made smaller ones as well and have made them into flowers by flipping them upside down.
ReplyDeleteGreat card...I need to try this tree. tfs!
ReplyDeleteCute way to combing the sketch and the tutorial together! Your tree is darling!
ReplyDeleteJen, you did a great job with this tutorial. I didn't even try it yet, so my hat's off to you for your efforts. I like the faux stitching all around the second card.
ReplyDeleteAwesome Jen! Way to use the sketch AND the tutorial!!! Go you!!! I love your trees. :)
ReplyDeleteJen,
ReplyDeleteLove how you combined the Sunday sketch and the Tuesday Tutorial. The results of this pairing are are two adorable cards!
Love your selection of embellishments. You're absolutely right that something flashy just wouldn't feel right with your selection of paper. I really like how you flipped the sketch and made a smaller version of this cute little tree. Think I'm going to have to give this tutorial a try!
Thanks so much for playing along with this week's sketch challenge! You've made a couple of really cute cards. :)
LOVE!!!
