GIU - Day 4

Welcome back! I"m really enjoying this week of showcasing Unity stamps. :) I hope you are enjoying it, too! Don't forget, comment to win one of two prizes!!

Some of you on FB may have seen this already, but yesterday I bought 6 barely used Tim Holtz ink pads for $15 on my local "stuff to sell in my city" page. They were all colors I didn't have!! Oh, the joy. :) I love that the TH pads stack but I didn't like how you had to look to see which colors were where - until recently, when I saw someone who did this:
Those are all mine. The ones on the right are the new colors. :)
Genius, right? And in the interest of organization and reusing stuff, I use the tiny bags from Unity's Itty Bitty stamps and print labels to store the foam pads for each color. You can use a hole punch (jiggle it a little when you punch to really puncture the bag) to punch holes in the bags rather than using the holes at the top, and that way you can take the pads out without undoing the whole thing. I just put mine on a zip tie so I can add more later if I need to (and yes, I alphabetize)!
Work in progress; I was adding the new color bags.
So. Today I have some CAS cards for you. What I LOVE about these cards is not only that they used up some leftover things, but because of the great sentiments. I just ADORE that peace tree (I glossy accented the star. SO pretty!).  The sending happy thoughts... it works for thinking of you, or an encouragement card, or a quick birthday card. And the thank you - who doesn't need a stash of thank you's on hand? I LOVE Unity's sentiments because they work well for lots of occasions. :)

In my crazy world, sometimes crafting has to be just some gorgeous paper, a great Unity stamp, a little distress ink and embellishment and voila! Done. :)

Authentique papers
Bazzill cardstock
Unity stamps: Peace Tree, Nov. 2011 KOM and Feb. 2011 KOM
Really Reasonable Ribbon jute ribbon

Thanks for visiting me again today! Don't forget to comment - TWO prizes to give away! Now, go run all your errands because the stores are already NUTS and it's not even Christmas eve yet!!

  1. You did a nice job showcasing some beautiful paper on the last pair of cards.

Thanks for telling how you store the TH sponges. I had labeled the sides of my ink pads but I hadn't come up with a good solution for the applicators yet. I might try something like you suggested.

  2. Hi Jen, Great ideas for storage and identifying, Thanks for that. Lovely cards. I also love that tree. Nice jo all the way around. I've have spent some time during the past couple of days also rearranging my ways of storing certain items. Don't know why I picked now to do it, but at least it will get done. I've hit just about every store I need to so you won't find me near one now. Just one store today-Verizon Wireless. I have to get my new phone and we plan to be there as soon as they open. Enjoy your upcoming weekend.

  11. Love your cards...I agree that sometimes pretty papers and the right sentiment is all you need. And wow, thanks for the tip on storing those foam pads for the distress inker. I keep mine in a plastic box but they get all messy just loose!
