Good morning, sunshine! I always annoy my late-owl husband with my early bird perkiness. :) Anyhow, welcome to the first Sunday virtual card making party challenge for OWH! What better challenge for first thing in the morning then a caffeine challenge? (If you want to see the other challenges from yesterday or this is the first you've heard about the VCMP, go here to learn more.)
So, find your stamps or dies related to coffee, tea, soda, or chocolate and get crafty! If you don't have anything of those varieties, don't worry - Operation Write Home has a fantastic and very easy coffee cup tutorial. In fact, this one of my go-to shaped cards simply because it is SO easy to make. When I had a glut of solid colored card stock last year (a gift from my dear sis), I mass-produced a whole bunch of them. :)
I always think gray and dark red is a very classy combo, and it works well for both men and women. So I made two coffee cup cards, one for a man and one for a woman. I lined both of the insides with white card stock.
To make things more fun, here are some retired stamps from Lizzie Anne Designs as well as a pack of ribbon and twine in lots of colors:
I'll give both of these to one lucky commenter. If you want a chance to win, you must comment and commit to sending (at minimum) two cards (or Anyhero notes) to a shipper in the next 2 weeks. (If you just sent a box in the last few days, that counts too!) You can find the shipper addresses here. For an EXTRA chance to win, link up a caffeine card. :)
Go get busy and link up your card!
Jen
Jen, thanks for hosting such a fun challenge for the VCMP! I can't wait to see what kinds of cards people make.
ReplyDeleteYay. I love coffee (and Diet Coke). I'll break out the Cafe set that I have and commence to card making.
ReplyDeleteTotally adorable! I am not a coffee drinker but I do love my chocolate so that one I can relate to. LOL! I'm an OWHer and will definitely be sending a box of cards very soon. I'll work on this later today. Mine is the next challenge up. Gotta make sure my InLinkz works too! ;)
ReplyDeleteHmmm. Not a coffee or tea drinker, my caffeine comes from Dr. Pepper can! I will need to be extra creative to participate!!!

PS I have a box ready to go to OWH in the next week or so!

Jen, what a great challenge! Your cards are very cute, that is a great color combo! I was just looking at a set of coffee related stamps this morning and thinking I hadn't used them in a long time. I'll, for sure, be sending a box of cards soon, next week is our monthly cardmaking party.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE COFFEE!!!!!!!!! This is by far my favorite challenge - thanks.
ReplyDeleteGreat challenge idea. I have two sets to play with (one from Fiskars and a Paper Smooches set)...so maybe I'll make a couple of cards. I am using this VCMP to finish up my box to Kris...so thanks for the inspiration.

ReplyDeleteThanks for reminding me about that coffee cup tutorial Jen. Though I have a much neglected, retired SU stamps set in my for this challenge I never tried that tutorial and had totally forgotten it. The shaped cards are so much fun and the way you've done the label is terrific!
ReplyDeleteI will commit to a box going to Kris in the next week. I just need a few more to finish it. I am going to try the tutorial. I don't think I have any coffee or chocolate stamps. Thanks for hosting the challenge.

ReplyDeleteWow this challenge really made me think, not being a coffee or tea lover. However, I do have a couple of images that would work, time to start digging. We will have a box off by the end of the month.

Such cute cards - love that idea. I've got an order coming in on Tuesday with a paper pack purchased specifically for OWH cards, so I should have a nice stack on the way within the 2 week deadline.

Thanks so much Jen for challenging us to use a coffee theme. I had the Latte love stamp set and had not yet used it. So funny how we as crafters buy new stamps and tools just needing them now yet sometimes don't use them until months even years later. lol Well, thanks to you I finally used those stamps! Thanks for hosting the challenge and for offering blog candy. oh and BTW, my cards will be on their way this weekend.
ReplyDeleteAs I'm sitting here drinking my morning cup of coffee I'm thinking this is my kind of challenge. Caffeine! Yea! Thanks for hosting.
ReplyDeleteThis was one of my favorite challenges! I had so much fun with my tea cups. (thank you so much for your comments on my blog, I got excited when i saw the comments that i had to yell to my hubby that i got 7 comments on my cards! WOO HOO) and sadly i actually used woo hoo in normal speech. lol anyway im just about to send off a box so thanks for letting me play those extra cards really helped fill everything up.
