It's finally time for the Hop! It doesn't feel anything like spring yet here in Wisconsin with 20 degree weather and heaps of snow, but we've had sunshine the last few days and that makes such a huge difference! When it's gloomy and Mom gets gloomy, watch out! LOL
A quick reminder, if you are making cards to send in to OWH - there are a couple of deadlines quickly approaching:
March 18 - Easter cards
March 31- Mother's Day
As always, if you are running late in mailing your box (I'm sure I've ***cough cough*** never had one of those moments), you can make your cards spring-like or bright and feminine and omit the "happy Easter" or "happy Mother's Day" sentiment, so they could still be used even if they don't arrive to a shipper in time to be mailed overseas for that holiday! And if you need a little inspiration, I love checking out the OWH card gallery: http://operationwritehome.org/cards.html
I don't have any bunny stamps, so I went with birds. Here in central Wisconsin, they are definately a sign of spring! (I have seen bunnies running through the snow. No robins yet, though!) I know not everyone will think this color combination is particularly spring-y, but I like it. :)
Card recipe:
DSP from K&Company
Stamps from Unity
Momento inks; SU pastels
Here's another card I made for a friend's birthday this week. This stamp is one of my favorite flower stamps, from Unity Stamp Co. I reach for it all the time! I love the colors in this card.
Card recipe:
DP - Papertrey Ink
Solid cardstock - SU and Papertrey
Stamp - Unity Stamp Co
Ribbon unknown
Colored with Prismacolor pencils & baby oil

ReplyDeleteOh my, that fringe-y flower stamp is delightful--wouldn't they be cute colored as spider lillies, with lots of little rhinestone accents! (Wanna guess what my favorite embellie is?) Fun selection, Jen. . ..
ReplyDeleteWow - love them both! Favorite embellishment...hmmm. Anything textural - love embossing in particular at the moment! Beautiful cards! ♥ky
ReplyDeleteLove the flower cards! Thanks for sharing! My favorite thing to embellish with at the moment (it changes all the time) is the Viva Decor Pearl Pens, or Liquid Pearls....same effect, but the Viva pens tend to keep their pearl shape better!

I love your cards -- and I DO think the first one is 'springy' in color!! :) Thanks so much for sharing both of your cards in the OWH Bunny Hop!!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite card embellishment would be a die cut... If that's not considered an embellishment, then it would have to be BLING (like sticky gems) or ribbon!! :)
