Unity FWF 8/12 - What you were meant to do

Happy, happy Friday! I am so glad for the weekend... it means we can head north to the lake! My husband's oldest sister and her family are coming up to join us for a night - my girls are thrilled to get to play with their cousins!

I have a few things to share today (storage! a great deal!), so let me get the FWF card out there first in case you're in a hurry. :) Be sure to hop back to the Unity blog so you can see everyone's projects... and maybe do a little shopping in the Unity store!!

Stamps: Unity's Birdie Duet, May 2011 KOM
Ink: Momento Rich Cocoa and SU Ruby Red
Image is machine stitched; corners are fussy cut and the birds are paper pieced.

I had this card percolating in my head for a couple of days. Amazingly enough, the end result is pretty much what I imagined. That doesn't always happen!

And I thought I would show you quickly my Unity storage. I googled for lots of tips on how to store Unity stamps a few months ago, and hit upon the trick to use the Scraponizer folders with cases BUT to cut the folders in half. GENIUS!!!!! You can fit 3 half folders per case, so I use the KOM sheet (or an 8.5x11 sheet that's stamped with the images - and labeled with the set, if I know it) and it lays on top of the folder with the stamps x 3. I tell you, I seriously felt like I won the jackpot once I organized these because suddenly I knew WHAT I had. LOVE that.

And a FAB find at Target this past week - a big carrying tray in chocolate brown (to match my office), so that I can take a project with me to the living room when DH is home at night!

It's about 18x26" - BIG!!! It was on clearance for $17. Normally I'd try to create a DIY project rather than spending $17, but in this case I think it was well worth it!

Thanks for hanging in with my long post for today! :) Thanks so much for visiting,

Jen
