Hello blog friends! Well, school's been in session for a week now (kindergarten is going GREAT) and we've had our first few chilly mornings, so it seems fitting that the OWH mid-week throwdown challenge is to make autumn cards. I have a box nearly ready to send to Kris, but I think I'll make just a few more autumn cards to top it off, as I think the deadline is approaching. Then I better get working on Christmas!! LOL
I went all CAS today:
Stamps: Unity July 2010 KOM
SU inks (more mustard, pumpkin pie, old olive, chocolate chip)
Hemp twine and brads from my stash
I spent nearly 20 minutes trying to figure out how to get a ribbon on this card. I had a GORGEOUS dark green ribbon to use... but there was no way to make it look right, and truth be told, the hemp twine fits the card much better! Note to self: follow the card's lead, not what you thought you wanted to do! :)
Be sure to play along here ... there is a prize to be won!! And be sure to check out all of the challenges this month!

Love it, Jen; gorgeous stamps!!
ReplyDeleteWay to follow the card's lead...it called to you in a fab way and I'm glad you listened. The twine is perfect on this!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great card, funny how things don't always work the way we think they should. I like your new look on your blog too :)
ReplyDeleteLove the hexagons...so trendy! Great card! Way to roll with it!
ReplyDeleteThis is a really pretty card. The little clip on the OWH site doesn't do it justice. I love the images and the perfect bit of bling. You are right the twine looks so natural with this card. I think this happens to all of us - searching for the perfect little accent - no wonder my craft room always looks like a tornado's been through! Your card is just right!!
