Hello friends! It's FRIDAY! :) This is my last day as Growing in Unity girl... I am sad to see the week come to an end! I have loved seeing new visitors to my blog and all of your sweet comments. :)
It's Friday and that means Friends with Flair over at the Unity blog... but before I get to project pics, yesterday we got about 10" of snow. Seriously. And LOTS of wind. So no school... hmmm, what to do?
Salt dough ornaments! And a salt dough snowman with hat and scarf. :) You should've seen our hands after from all of the dye. GROSS. |
What's a snow day without playing outside in the snow? They looked like roly poly snowgirls. :) |
Movies, crafting, coloring, a little bit of crafting time for me... it was a nice day with my girls. :)
So. Yesterday I had this smallish scrap of pretty, pretty Authentique paper and could not bear to toss it, so I made it into this:
Authentique dp, Gina K kraft and PTI ripe avacado cardstock Unity KOM sentiment random ribbon from stash, scoring tool |
I scored the bottom of the card around the sentiment and used up that scrap of ribbon creating a ruffled banner. I adhered it with my very own glue dots; if you want to see how to make glue dots or how I store my glue dots you can see this post (it's cool. You should look.)
This card I am less impressed with, but my DH really liked it. He said it was more masculine. With a bow??? I am not sure.
Authentique paper (used it UP! go me!) Unity Nov 2011 KOM sentiment SU edge punch, random ribbon and glue dot to adhere |
Because this post isn't long enough, I have a couple of gift bags my oldest helped me make. This one is for her teacher. We spritzed it with shimmer paint mixed with hairspray and she got a huge glob right in the middle. OOPS. I'm quite sure her teacher is used to first-grader crafting creations.
Unity's Snowglobe Wonderland |
And this one I made for one of our nieces and did marginally better on the spritzing. LOL By the way, this Snowflake Kisses set is becoming one of my go-to's for winter cards. I LOVE it.

Thank you so much for making it all the way to the bottom! Don't forget to leave a comment - and go back and comment on my other posts - for more chances to win. Unity will give away 2 Itty bitty's and I will give away a Unity grab bag as well (Winners drawn on Sunday morning)! Merry Christmas!

I can't throw away my Authentique paper either. I just love the card you made! It's gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI love all the projects you did today! Your girls are so cute! And I never throw away any scraps, either! And even the smallest piece gets punched with a 1" square punch or a 1" circle punch and I have a box full. And I have a box full of small shapes like stars and hearts, etc. of all colors and it makes a wonderful confetti to put inside of birthday cards!! I know, I'm crazy, but I just love paper!!!
