It's Wednesday and another midweek throwdown over at the Stars & Stamps blog. The challenge today is to make an Easter card, as the deadline to send Easter cards to shippers is Feb. 15! Wow, that's coming up quickly! (General Easter cards - chicks, bunnies, etc can be sent after the deadline, just make sure they don't have an Easter sentiment. :))
I went to my old standby... the Ippity set "Sweet Thoughts of Spring." LOVE this bunny. :) I also grabbed my OWH sketches - this is sketch 33. I'm not sure, but I don't think I did this one before. I should really keep track. :o
Paper is K&Co, I think, the ribbon is SU, and I shaded just the ears, heart, and flower on the bunny with my Prismas. Less is more...
Also, I would like you to please note how FULL this jar is of empty ribbon spools (clothespins):
When I started my spending freeze in January, there were *maybe* 10 in there. Now I've got at least 30!! Go me! My paper stash is thinning, slowly but surely... it feels SO GOOD! And I can't wait to go ribbon shopping. I did buy ATG tape yesterday, but I only have 2 left and it goes SO fast. Faster than one would think... maybe I'm an excessive adher-er. Who knows? At least my cards won't fall apart before they get to Afghanistan! :)

Your bunny is too cute! I agree with you - a lot of times, "less is more", and this card is a good example of that.
ReplyDeleteThat little bunny's smile is so adorable! Love the layout and papers too. Thanks for playing in our Midweek Throwdown Challenge at Operation Write Home Stars & Stamps!

p.s. I know what you mean about the ATG tape. I buy mine online because it is 3x as expensive at Micheal's even with a coupon. It is a big expense for all at once, but by buying in bulk my rolls cost less than $1.40 per roll. Love your jar - glad to see it filling up!
How cute. I love your jar.
ReplyDeleteCute card! Awesome work on thinning the stash. Great work :)
ReplyDeleteHey, Jen! You CAN keep track of which OWH sketches you've used! Just go to the sketches page and download the checklist at the top of the page. I've started keeping track by noting the date I posted each card sketch to my blog.
ReplyDeleteVery proud of you for sticking to your spending freeze! In my opinion adhesive doesn't count because you can't use ip everything else without it. Looks like you are only 15 cards away from ending the freeze.
Please be sure to visit my blog this Sunday - I have a shoutout to you (and a link to your blog)! Hope you enjoy the surprise!!!!
that is a very cute bunny - nice use of the sketch - I might be able to go a week without spending anything on craft supplies.

Cute bunny! (I love bunnies!) Nice interpretation of sketch 33. I'm slowly working my way through the sketches (but in no real order) and love to see how others have interpreted the sketches.
ReplyDeleteI really like your card. It is very clean and the bunny is adorable.
ReplyDeleteCute card!! I love pink and brown together! Great job on using up the stash, I NEED to do that!!!
ReplyDeleteCute card Jen and I did recognize the sketch too! Spending freeze, wow good for you using up your stash of goodies! Thanks for playing in our Midweek Throwdown challenge at Operation Write Home!
